Popis: | Internet of Things (IoT) nodes capture enormous data pertaining to energy, traffic, home automation, etc. with the help of sensors stored in persistent storage systems, such as, cloud or distributed databases. The purpose of this work is to protect this data from corruption by an adversary. The protection of IoT data, stored locally on the device (in flash storage) or on the servers, is of paramount importance. An adversary can breach the security measures and access the data with an intention to steal or corrupt it. This security breach is difficult to identify as the adversary might be a person having authorized access to the data. This work leverages on this issue and attempts to solve it by using Honey sensors. Honey sensors are fake, decoy data values that are intentionally injected in real data values to identify tampering attempts by adversaries. This work proposes an approach to automate the honey sensor injection in real-world traces of IoT data. |
