In this paper several topics on smart grids as taught at Master level at the “Politehnica” University of Bucharest are presented. Among them, low voltage DC grids benefit from a laboratory which integrates simulation, control strategies, on-line communication, dedicated measurements and an extensive experimental set-up. All components can be studied as part of classical AC microgrid also; moreover, the laboratory functionality is designed as to integrate renewable-based generation and appliances with modern electronic power supply and opens new perspectives on several topics, part of the master program. The paper describes in detail all laboratory components, experimental results and further development. |
