Popis: It is necessary to achieve a ratio of approximately 20 mcg of antibody to 1 ml of red blood cells (RBD) in order to assure complete suppression of the primary immune response. 44 Rho (D) and Dh negative Caucasian men between 22-49 were transfused with 1 unit of Rh-positive blood (500cc). 22 of the transfused volunteers received 11-22 vials of RhoGAM within 30 minutes after tranfusion. The observed incidence of Rh immunization in Rh-negative volunteers given approximately 500 ml of Rh-positive blood is 81.8 percent. None of the volunteers given Rh immune globulin became immunized. Rh positive cells were present in the treated volunteers circulation up to one month past transfusion; for volumes of blood large as 500 ml Rh immune suppression appears to be independent of the half-life of RBDS survival.
