A new calculated index is proposed for estimating the volume of extracellular fluid in the soft tissues of the extremities: impedance fluid index (IFI). This indicator, calculated when performing bioempedance measurements of tissues, can be used to assess the severity and nature of the edema of tissues of any etiology. The use of the index for performing low-frequency phase-selective impedanceometry in patients with secondary (postmastectomic) lymphedema of the upper limb is described. The high informative value of the indicator was demonstrated, both in the initial diagnosis and in evaluating the effectiveness of the treatment. |
