Popis: The problem of yellowjacket invasion into sites of human activity has become important over the past few years. Interest in outdoor activities has caused an ever-increasing human encroachment into previously undeveloped areas. Natural foraging areas for yellowjackets have been reduced by housing developments, parks, golf courses, etc. In addition. modified areas with their human presence have provided yellowjackets with an alternate source of food. These insects have proved difficult to control because of the impossible task of locating and destroying the individual nests. Area pesticide treatment would be difficult and unpopular because of the large land areas involved.
