For agricultural land monitoring, information is collected by various governing agencies regarding different types of crops cultivated and their growth cycles. Traditionally, this work is done through manual field surveys, which require a lot of human efforts, time, and money and yet cover only some sample farms. These surveys are not very accurate due to human intervention. Due to these factors, there is a need for an automated agricultural monitoring system which can identify large agriculture land areas with the growth stage of crops cultivated on it. Remote-sensed images which cover large land areas are found be more cost effective, reliable, and available in a timely manner. Spatial data mining methods can be applied to extract useful information from remotely sensed images. |
