The RANS codes have reached an industrial maturity. They are now extensively used at early design stages. The configurations that industry needs to tackle are becoming more and more complex. This paper presents the French program “DTP Modeles – phase 3” that aims at validating numerical methods for aircraft configurations featuring control surfaces. A comprehensive experimental database has been built for spoilers and ailerons and both structured and unstructured RANS methods have been validated against this database. |
