Under a transformation to streamline coordinates, it is possible to generalise Rapid Distortion Theory results, applied to sheared flow, to include a developing flow. This allows inclusion of large geometrical effects, for example a thick aerofoil, to high-frequency acoustic disturbances. These ideas are developed by considering a shear flow passing over a protrusion from a wall, and extended to include the effect of a trailing-edge. |
