| Popis: | From 1953 to 1969 two parcels of land in the community forest of Couvet (Jura neuchâtelois) were subjected to a precise annual inventory and a meteorological station was installed. The goal of this investigation was to study the influences of weather on wood production in the two differently exposed trial areas, one facing north (Envers) and one facing south(Endroit). The trials furnished a satisfactory answer to a recurring question of forestry managers at Couvet: the surprisingly parallel occurrence of periodic growth on both plots can be explained by the long-term balance between good and bad weather periods. |
