Study on the Temperature Field and the Crack Prevention Countermeasure During the Abutment Construction in the Middle East

Popis: Base on the concrete work of the abutment of belt conveyor bridge of JIGCC project in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, the finite element model of the abutment hydration heat reaction during the construction and maintenance period is established by taking the actual field situation as the input boundary condition. The model is verified by the field temperature monitor data. It shows that the temperature curve of the finite element model is in good agreement with the monitor data, and the finite element model is accurate enough. The stress due to temperature is within the allowable range, and the risk of cracking under the pouring scheme is low. Further, influence factors of the hydration heat reaction are analyzed from the aspects of concrete external surface insulation method, molding temperature and ambient temperature. Combined with the field construction experience in Saudi Arabia, it put forward some crack prevention countermeasures of mass concrete in the Middle East.
