Popis: The mass spectra of (Me)4-n Si(Allyl)n (n = 1-4) are discussed in detail. In these compounds odd-electron ions play a somewhat more important role in the decay processes than in the mass spectra of other organosilicon compounds where the even-electron ions are principally formed. The main features of the mass spectra are: the low abundance of molecular ions, hydrogen transfer with formation of cyclic ion-structures and elimination of a number of neutral fragments. Some similarities between thermolysis and mass spectrometric fragmentation of related organosilicon derivatives are also discussed.
