The article presents the results of a study on the development of optimal compositions and a study of the properties of a refractory mass based on quartzite, quartz sand and a binder of kaolin. The areas of existence of optimal compositions of dinas refractory masses on the triple diagram of initial components are determined. It was established that the best technological and thermomechanical characteristics were dominated by prototypes fired at a temperature of 1400 °C with partial replacement of quartzite with quartz sand and kaolin up to 25 wt. % each.
