Fast VETSFD-TDFEM for 2-D electromagnetic scattering analysis

Popis: The Volumetric Excitation method in Total- and Scattered-Field Decomposition (VETSFD) technique is applied to Time Domain Finite Element Method (TDFEM) for some electromagnetic scattering analysis of representative 2-D objects. The detailed algorithms of VETSFD-TDFEM are presented in this paper. The numerical leakage of the presented VETSFD-TDFEM is −110dB in absence of scatterer, which is much less than that of Huygen's surface method. Furthermore, the presented method is accelerated with OpenMP parallelization technique and the efficiency of TDFEM is improved consequently. The bistatic Radar Cross Section (RCS) of some representative objects are computed, which demonstrate that the given fast VETSFD-TDFEM is an efficient and accurate method for wideband electromagnetic scattering analysis of complex objects.
