Popis:	A new method for the synthesis of 8-pyridiniotheophyllinates by the action of pyridine or alkylpyridines on theophylline or 8-bromotheophylline in the presence of oxidizing agents was developed. The oxidation of 8-bromotheophylline gives the best results. This method was used to obtain 8-(2-methylpyridinio)theophyllinate, which could not be synthesized previously.
