Popis: | 1. The method of acoustic emission makes it possible to study the nature of damage to glass reinforced plastics at any stage of loading as well as to work out critical recommendations for the application of this method in nondestructive quality control of products and for predicting their strength properties. 2. The process of damage to the material of glass reinforced plastic proceeds in the following manner: against the background of continuous crumbling, lamination, and fracture of fibers of the glass tissue, accompanied by a large number of pulses of AE with low energy, at the concluding stage of loading we find failure of the brittle component (binder) of the glass reinforced plastic attended by pulses of AE of high power. 3. The newly devised method of evaluating the probability of release of substandard products upon prediction of their strength properties according to threshold values of the number of pulses of acoustic emission and the regression equation makes it possible to find the critical predicted value of strength prupt* at which the probability of releasing a substandard product into operation satisfies the customer's requirement. |
