Popis: Innate immune system is distinct, but not separate from the adaptive immune system. Particularly, many elements of the innate immunity exert a crucial role in determining the characteristics of the subsequent adaptive immune response. Innate immunity encompasses many cell types, mediators, and receptors. The role of innate immunity in vitiligo patho-genesis is far from being clarified, but many findings support a contribution. A major involvement to date has been suggested for keratino-cytes-derived stimuli, dendritic cells-mediated direct killing, and alterations of proteins involved in the activation of the inflammasome and complement.
