Popis: | A study of the capillary properties of sintered permeable materials has shown that the maximum height of liquid rise can be calculated with Jurain's equation. Good agreement between theoretical and experimental data indicates that the experimental apparatus and data processing technique described can be successfully employed for determining the maximum height of rise of a liquid in an SPM. A new method is proposed for assessing contact angles. On the basis of experimental results an empirical expression has been obtained relating the angle of contact to pore size for an SPM from a bronze powder. |
