| Popis: | Education in natural resources is changing toward a specialist graduating in a specific major with general natural resource knowledge in other areas. Graduates also are required to have knowledge in sophisticated methodology. Courses in sociology, economics, and public relations are being required in natural resources management curricula. Professionals are being given the opportunity to return to universities and update knowledge through short courses, institutes, and workshops. Courses not of university quality are often offered as student efforts under sponsorship of student organizations. Employment opportunities seem to be increasing because of retirements and resultant personnel turnover in natural resources agencies—federal registers being opened for the first time in many years—and opportunities due to a general interest in environmental problems.
