Popis: | Mechanical characterization of short raw banana fiber polyester composite is main theme of this study. Randomly oriented banana fiber reinforced composite with volume fraction varying as 5%, 10%, 15%, 17.5% and 20% were fabricated by using hot compression moulding method. Thickness of specimen was varied as 5mm and 3mm. Flexure, tensile and impact test for each sample specimen was carried out as per ASTM D3039, ASTM D7264 and ASTM D256 standards respectively. The test results of 5 mm thick specimens showed their maximum value of tensile, flexural and impact strength as 23.04 Mpa, 124.61 Mpa and 147.15 J/m at their 20% fiber volume fractions respectively. |
