This article examines the presence of Spanish literature in the magazine Europa Letteraria (1960-65). First of all, we analyse the articles on authors who published before the Civil War, underlining how in the magazine their work is considered a political and moral model for the young generations, instead of a literary one. After this we examine poets and short fiction writers who were eliminated by the winning bando through death, prison or exile. The second part of the article is devoted to Nueva Ola: the group of young writers gathered under the banner of anti-Francoism and united by a realist poetics. Finally, we analyse the debate on censorship, focusing in particular on the case of López Pacheco. |
