Popis: | 38th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 45-48 Using the Monte Carlo formalism, the maximum efficiency of the luminescent photons transport to the plates edges in the tandem luminescent solar concentrator (LSC) is calculated for the stack of plates with different luminophore’s parameters. It is shown that increasing the number of plates in the stack decreases thermalization losses and increases reflection losses. The efficiency dependence on the number of plates saturates after 8 plates for the optimal distribution of photon flux between the plates. The thermalization and reflection losses for this case become equal and close to the escape cone losses. On the other hand, for nonoptimal photon flux distribution, the efficiency has a maximum below that one for the optimal flux, and is reached at a smaller number of plates. The higher refractive index of the plates’ material, the efficiency maximum is reached for smaller numbers of plates. |
