Popis: | In light of their huge contemporary significance, the history of human rights has been the subject of reams of scholarship. In addition, as the use and meaning of the word ‘right’ has changed considerably over the course of time, not least because of the disagreements over visions of history, notions of this history are largely at odds with each other. Hence, before presenting the historical background to the research, a brief overview of the histories of human rights will illuminate the problems relating to that history. |
