Popis: The Arabic-speaking countries represent an important region that currently has made limited progress in quality management development. This paper briefly reviews some of the relevant geopolitical and economic factors before considering the adoption of quality management practices including the ISO 9000 series and Total Quality Management. Some factors in the adoption of quality management trends are outlined. The limited literature available on quality management in this region is reviewed. The case of Sudan is considered in more detail. General conclusions are drawn and suggestions presented as to how the Arabic-speaking countries should advance their practice in quality management.
