Popis: On the basis of the information available and the authors” previous investigations, the main regularities of change in the tendency of various transition metals to hydride formation have been established. It has been shown in detail that the ultimate metal hydrogenation changes periodically along the rows and monotonously down the columns of the periodic table. Quantitative relationships between the density and Young’s modulus, on the one hand, and the hydride composition and pressure, on the other hand, have been deduced. They are in agreement with the fact that ultimate metal hydrogenation increases with increasing pressure.
