Processing of Cr-doped T1-1212 for use in wires and tapes

Popis:	The addition of Cr to T1SrCaCuO - 1212 phase has been shown to increase Tc above 100K and also to result in a much more platey growth morphology than is usually seen in this phase. This offers the opportunity for achieving texture in mechanically processed tapes which may improve the current carrying properties at 77K. We have investigated the preparation of Cr-doped T1-1212 powder of a range of compositions to establish the optimum composition and annealing temperature for the production of phase pure material with the desired grain morphology.
