This study is intended to present a panorama of the townships surrounding the Port of Acu Industrial Complex (CLIPA), Sao Joao da Barra, Rio de Janeiro State – Brazil, on the basis of territorial and environmental issues. The overall objective is to analyze the relationship of the populations neighboring the complex with the territory they occupy, since both localities and the complex occupy a region that was rural for years. As a result for this study, we have the characterization of the urban centers surrounding the CLIPA, the identification of areas with greater environmental fragility, the environmental damage already caused by the installation of the complex, and its reflection on the neighboring town. |
