Popis: Aluminium metal matrix composites (AMMCs) have been using due to its outstanding Properties such as lightweight, greater wear-resistance and high-temperature applications. The composite materials thermal characterization has been receiving broad consideration and has become leading in engineering and material science. This research article provides results and discussion pertaining to an investigation carried out to study the thermal and mechanical behaviour of Aluminium-based hybrid Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs) with varying reinforcement of Graphite and 10 wt% of Silicon Carbide (SiC). Aluminium hybrid MMCs reinforced with the varying percentage of graphite (3%, 6%, and 9%) and 10 wt% of SiC were prepared by using Stir Casting process. The thermal and mechanical behaviour of Al/SiC/Gr hybrid composites investigated. Results indicated that hardness and tensile strength of hybrid MMCs increased as graphite percentage increases with 10 wt% of SiC and the reinforced aluminium material has greater hardness and tensile strength when compared to unreinforced aluminium material. The Coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) and Thermal conductivity (TC) of hybrid MMCs with varying temperature from 50 °C to 300 °C decreased as increasing of graphite reinforcement with 10 wt% SiC.
