Popis: | In previous studies by the authors, a kinematic framework using physical attributes arising from a Gram–Schmidt factorization of the deformation gradient has been developed. It describes a state of deformation in a locally convected coordinate system that is oblique Cartesian. Elastic constitutive equations have been established based upon two sets of scalar-valued, stress/strain, base pairs, both with physical interpretations in this convected coordinate system. In this paper, the authors derive a continuum model for soft, biologic, tubular structures. The presented model describes the behavior of isotropic and anisotropic materials in terms of physical attributes that are directly measurable in experiments. Data acquired from ring and axial tests of inflated, porcine, coronary sinus are investigated, and are used to illustrate the capabilities of our theoretical model. |
