Popis: | The effect of light resistive exercise on thigh muscle strength and endurance was studied in well elderly subjects. Strength and endurance measurements were taken before and after a six week exercise regime using the Biodex isokinetic dynamometer. The results demonstrated no significant difference between the preexercise and postexercise measurements. It was concluded that the resistance used in this study was too low to effect muscle strength or endurance. Clinicians should be cognizant that exercise without the appropriate amount of resistance may not have an effect on well elderly individuals. |
