Popis: This chapter traces through history how current concepts about strategy and organization have evolved. Generally speaking, consultants on strategy and organization brought little in the way of formalized concepts, conceptual models, transferable tools, or a body of knowledge that would describe today as intellectual capital. The modern era of strategy and organization consulting really began in the 1960s and 70s, when the extended post-war era finally came to an end. Even when practiced, the word itself was rarely used; executives spoke instead of "business policy" or "planning", and most firms made strategic decisions on an ad hoc basis, guided more by instinct and tradition than by empirically driven, methodology-based analysis. Value-Driven Business Design is about strategic choices. Typically, the Value-Driven Business Design process consists of six phases. They are Value migration insights; Future value space mapping; Strategic business design choices; Key capability needs and development; Consistent organizational systems; and Accelerated implementation.
