The palmar aspect of the Equine pastem includes several soft tissue structures of clinical importance. In the past, diagnosis of pathlogy to these structures has relied on palpation, clinical signs, and necropsy findings. Real time ultrasound imaging can be used as an aid in diagnosis through the objective assessment of structural changes that occur to these tissues during pathological processes. In addition ultrasound can be an aid in the evaluation of therapeutic recommendations and a prognosis. |
