Popis: Stage A 27-year-old woman had severe hypertension and hirsutism during the last trimester of a normal pregnancy. In the six months after the delivery of her child, she noticed increasing skin pigmentation and continued weight gain, and insulin-requiring diabetes mellitus developed. Her prepregnancy weight was 160 lb (73 kg), and her weight six months after delivery was 240 lb (109 kg). Her previous health had been excellent, and she had no family history of obesity or endocrine disease. She was not a smoker. Response I see patients with hypertension, hirsutism, and diabetes mellitus associated with weight gain in my practice . . .
