Popis: 1. Preliminary heating to 1300–1440°C and hardening of medium-and high-carbon steels containing titanium and nitrogen shows a considerable effect on austenite grain growth during subsequent heating. During this heating to 1100°C the grain actually does not grow but at higher temperatures up to 1320°C its retarded growth is observed. A rise in the preliminary heating temperature ensures an increase in the temperature range of retarded austenite grain growth. 2. Annealing at 600–700°C and normalization of steel even after high-temperature heating have no effect on grain growth during repeated heating.
