Many growers have begun to implement controllers into their poultry houses. In this project, an automated image data collection and analysis system is discussed. The system was first implemented in 2002-3 in a research setting. In 2004, changes to the algorithm were made and the system was tested in a commercial poultry setting. In addition, results using two types of IR illuminators are discussed in light of poultry applications. A combined, dual mode, dual CCD camera increased the visual consistency of the images, at the expense of reducing the color sensitivity of the system. |
