Popis: The paper proposes a new crack model, taking into account the effect of plastic strain gradients at the free surface of a crack on the energy characteristics of fracture of plastically deformable solids with cracks. The proposed model allows us to analyze the effect of the magnitude and gradients of plastic strain on the concentration and stress distribution at the crack tip. It is shown that the gradient of plastic strain at the free surface of a crack plays a crucial role in the calculations of the fracture toughness of a solid with a crack. The obtained equations can be used to calculate the characteristics of the fracture toughness of plastically deformable materials.
