Smart gateways designs with time switched feeders and beam hopping user links

Popis: In this paper, we discuss and analyse an architecture of a future multibeam High Throughput Satellite (HTS) system capable of offering greater flexibility to both feeder links and user links, allowing the resources to be allocated more efficiently and resulting in a system optimised holistically. This architecture considers a time switched payload. Beam hopping is used in the user links and a similar form in the feeder links. A user beam is served by a number of gateways and not just one. This scheme allows the progressive deployment of gateways in the system, without compromising the service or the coverage of the system.
