Popis: 1. Iron and manganese manifest similar properties as regards the adsorption of nitrogen in the entire range of studied temperatures and pressures. 2. Two types of adsorption are observed at -195° -irreversible and reversible. Only the reversible adsorption of nitrogen occurs at -78°. 3. The isosteric heat of adsorption, calculated from the two temperatures -195 and -78°, is close to 1 kcal/mole. 4. A slow adsorption of nitrogen, bearing an activated character, is observed at 0, 50 and 100°. 5. At all of the studied temperatures the degree to which the manganese surface is covered is greater than in the case of iron.
