Popis: | High quality cereal grains are annually required for processing in feed industry. However, the variation in both grain yield and quality is considerable owing to several risk factors endangering fodder cereal production in the marginal growing conditions of Finland [1, 2]. Therefore, stability in the expression of traits contributing to high grain quality is needed and should be included as a goal in breeding programs [3]. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the existence of genotype × environment (GxE) interaction and the phenotypic stability of quality traits over varying environments in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) and oats (Avena sativa L.) by using the Finlay-Wilkinson [4] regression method and Eberhart-Russell [5] stability analysis, both previously used in the evaluation of stability of yield performance with environment. |
