Popis: | Sucralfate is a mucosal protective coating agent that binds selectively to damaged or inflamed tissue to form a protective barrier. Sucralfate is a basic aluminum salt of sucrose octasulfate. At an acid pH, it forms large complexes with proteins (primary albumin and fibrogen) that adhere to the damaged tissue to prevent back diffusion of gastric acid, pepsin, and bile salts. Sucralfate also inhibits the direct binding of pepsin to ulcer protein and absorbs bile acids. |
