Popis: | Humphries Space Utility Module is a universal vessel that can be placed on the surface of another planet or can be put in the Low Earth Orbit (LEO). It is a multi-purpose module which, using the configurable sliding platform, can be configured as a research lab, manufacturing unit, medical facility, or even a space hotel. Space Manufacturing Module (SMM) which is one of the applications of Humphries Space Utility Module allows for emergency in-situ manufacturing of parts using laser welding and repairing of existing parts when in outer space; saving material, cost and time. It is a self-contained environment equipped with modern manufacturing tools. The paper briefly discusses the design, application and advantages of Humphries Space Module. |
