Popis: Many high-power radio frequency communication and navigation systems utilize multicarrier systems. Testing and analyzing such systems for multipactor breakdown have no universal approach, and current practices range in their degree of conservatism. A common approach involves considering the number of signal crossings above the single carrier breakdown threshold. Previous experimental work [Hubble et al., Proceedings of the 9th International Workshop on Multipactor, Corona, and Passive Intermodulation, Noordwijk, The Netherlands (April 2017)] evaluated multicarrier breakdown in two-tone systems and determined a relationship between carrier spacing and required signal crossings to achieve breakdown. This work builds upon the previous effort to include broader carrier spacing and additional tones, as well as the use of innovative center-conductor diagnostics to measure real-time electron population growth and decay.
