Popis: | The crystal structures of Pu(V, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni)B 4 , (Gd, An)TcB 4 with An = Th, U, and U 2 TcB 6 synthesized from the elements by argon arc melting have been characterized from X-ray powder diffraction data. (Th, U)TcB 4 crystallizes in the orthorhombic ThMoB 4 -type whereas GdTcB 4 and Pu(V, Cr, Fe, Co)B 4 adopt the YCrB 4 -type. (Th, U)TcB 4 reveals a transposition-type behavior between the ThMoB 4 -type high-temperature and the YCrB 4 -type low-temperature modifications. PuNiB 4 is isotypic with ErNiB 4 . U 2 TcB 6 is isostructural with Y 2 ReB 6 . The crystal chemistry of these compounds is discussed. |
