Popis: Aim: After the deterioration of Samsun Hamidiye Hospital due to the fire in 2007, it is aimed to determine the deterioration of the hospital, make restoration decisions, and ensure that it is kept alive by giving a new function. Method: In the study, modern and traditional methods were used to create survey drawings, and the deteriorations and changes in the building were identified. A literature and archive review was conducted to obtain information about the building, a restitution proposal was introduced, and conservation and functioning decisions were made accordingly. Findings: It was determined that the major problems that occurred in the hospital building were caused by add-ons and fire, and then the deterioration began due to abandonment. It was understood that it is a more correct approach to transform it to its original state, and keep the building alive by adaptive re-use. Conclusion: Hamidiye Hospitals are important since they reflect the buildings of a specific period. It was understood that the building, which was out of use due to reasons of improper intervention and fire, is about to collapse due to abandonment. For this reason, it was decided that its conservation will be more appropriate by a timely intervention and adaptive re-use.
