Popis: | Compression chip plays a vital role in a wireless capsule endoscopy. It compresses the captured image data to support the limited bandwidth of wireless capsule endoscopy and save the power utilized for transmitting data. This work proposed a near-lossless and low complexity image compression algorithm for wireless capsule endoscopy to provide a high quality image at a good compression ratio with less computational complexity. The algorithm follows four steps, first corner clipping, second RGB-YEN color transform, third fixed threshold DPCM and finally signed Golomb Rice code. The proposed algorithm has a competitive compression ratio of 60.9% compared to other works. It is better than standard JPEG-LS in term of memory usage and computational complexity. |
