Popis: | The N+ and N+2 products of the thermal-energy reaction of He+ with 14N2 and 15N2 have been examined by mass spectrometry and the emission from the product C2Σ+u state of 14N+2 has been investigated by optical spectrometry. A strong isotope effect is observed in both the N+/N+2 ratio and the optical emission. Lower limits are placed on the production of excited N+2 states other than the C2Σ+u state. |
