Popis:	Novel functionalized oxaziridines and nitrones have been prepared and examined as potential irreversible inhibitors of bacterial PBPs. N-(β-hydroxycarbonyl)ethyloxaziridines were found to undergo a fast isomerisation in protic solvent to yield the corresponding nitrones.
