Popis: Microstructural features and mechanical properties can be assessed using optical, electron-optical, and mechanical testing systems, but these are essentially destructive in nature. On the other hand, nondestructive testing (NDT) techniques can be used for evaluation of mechanical properties as well as for characterization of microstructural features such as grain size, texture, nucleation and growth of second phases, deformation, and damage. This article discusses the evaluation of microstructures and mechanical properties using various NDT techniques.
