Popis: | The Nuttall Q-function is an extension of the Generalized Marcum Q-function that has seen many recent applications in the performance analysis of communications systems over fading channels. These include co-channel interference, eigenvalues associated with non-central Wishart distributions, and MIMO systems performance analysis. In this paper, we address the computational issues in a novel way. First, we interpret the function as a intensity fading distribution. We derive new results for the moment generating function and the moments. Second, we develop computational methods based on pole-zero modeling using the Pade approximation. This rational function model for the generating function leads to a sums-of-exponential model for the Nuttall-Q. Our results hold for non-integral values of the parameters. |
