Technology has been at the forefront of laparoscopic and robotic surgery since its inception. Continuing with that input is the development of novel devices to aid in the performance of intracorporeal anastomosis. Included in this short chapter are two such developments. One of them is specific to left side of the colon and the rectum, while the other will have much more use on the rest of the intestinal tract. Both of the novel technologies are included to give the practicing surgeon an idea of possible future additions to the armamentarium of intracorporeal anastomosis. |
