Popis:	Functioning of modern agriculture and farms is dominated by increasing demand for energy. Meeting this demand is, however, a strategic problem which affects energy, food and environmental safety as well as operating costs of commercial farms and rural households. This paper discusses the problems of implementation of eco-innovation on the example of renewable energy sources in the Polish farm sector. The paper analyses energy intensity and structure of energy consumption in the Polish agricultural sector. It discusses the structure of energy consumption, taking into account rural areas, in Poland and Europe as well as analyzes energy costs in various types of agricultural production. Moreover, the paper assesses the potential of renewable energy sources in the Polish agriculture and presents barriers connected to their use. DOI: 10.30858/zer/104699
